Mydadtalk School

At St. Mary’s College and playing college football, some friends would bring their sons to my games for inspiration. After graduating with aspirations of going professional I would be often asked to talk and mentor my friend’s sons. I would speak to them from time to time giving words of wisdom and guidance but not on a full-time basis. That left a spark and a burning desire at the same time. After starting my professional career working for the government I would try and donate my time where I could to different programs, but I never could commit full time as I wanted due to my work schedule. While starting my own family and raising my son with my wife I still felt compelled to mentor the younger generation. While speaking to my wife one day I told her I still have a strong desire to mentor or be a big brother. She said you know a lot of single mothers would love that. Then her next statement was, hey why don’t you start a YouTube Channel where you can not only do what you are passionate about but on a larger scale to help more young people. The idea captured me, but I held on to it. While watching a documentary one night, I came across a mother who was dying of cancer and had a very short time to live. She wanted to leave important pearls of wisdom for her children. The mother decided to record her thoughts, voice, and hopes on tape to give to her children. After watching that moving story, I thought about what would I do or could leave my son if something happened to me. I once again came back to the idea of videotaping conversations and thoughts and leaving them for my son. From these two inspirational points “MyDadTalk” was birthed. From MyDadTalk, it was realized that parents are eager to add to their parenting skills, want another perspective, or just need help with their kids in raising them as they go through the different stages of life. From this point, the course 10 Steps to Raising Successful Kids from a Father’s Perspective was developed to assist parents. This is done in hopes to improve everyone’s family, community, and society.
